Thank you to everyone who came along to our bake sale last week.

While the property market continues to present challenges there are definitely still reasons to be encouraged going forward. It is however important that sellers choose agents who will be committed to achieving the best sales price whether that be at a closing date or by negotiation. We have all seen the glitzy (and expensive) advertising campaigns by the online agents but in our experience the savings they are claiming are far from accurate. Additionally sellers should always consider the importance of marketing their property in such a way as to achieve the best sales price rather than the lowest sales fee. Saving £400 and losing £10,000 is no great bargain! At Andersons we are encouraged that we continue to have the largest market share (over the past year we have had 54.5 % of the market measured against the other top 4 agents currently operating in KY13). However of greater significance to us is that from this high starting point we have outperformed this market share in terms of acceptable offers received. Over the same calendar year, again judged against the same agents (including online agents), we have a 61.1% share of the properties sold.

Andersons have a busy year of charitable events coming up. Our chosen local beneficiary this year is Rock Challenge at Kinross High School. Each year we try and support a small local charity or club which we feel will benefit from the sums that we can raise. Rock Challenge is an annual schools dance competition which helps promote healthy living and lifestyle amongst the participants. Kinross High School has entered the competition for the past few years with a team of pupils spanning S1-S6. They all work extremely hard on their production to make it as professional as possible. This includes non-dancers who are involved in costume, set design, lighting, hair and make-up. We wish them well for this year’s endeavours! Rock Challenge is part of the Be Your Best organisation and details of their work and aims can be found via this link. http://www.rockchallenge.co.uk/ A very worthwhile cause.
Our events this year will include; A bake sale in May, an all-day (at least) attempt to conquer Ben Nevis (any face). Sherpas Miller, Baillie and Watson will be hoping to lead the team to the Summit sometime in July. In September we will all be shaking our collective collecting cans at various events during the Mary Queen of Scots Anniversary events. We may even attempt to beat our ‘record’ time set in the boat race 2 years ago. Heads may roll (appropriately enough) if there is no improvement! Later that month (Friday 29th September is the provisional date) we will be holding another Grand Quiz Night hosted by the excellent Quizzical Team, Mike and Elaine Spain. Can you prize the trophy from last year’s trivia champs? Will Mike have singing lessons to protect the hearing? We will also have our own Will Aid event during the year to support the cause. Our events last year were well supported not only by many individuals but also by many local businesses which contributed prizes for our quiz night raffle and attended various events. Further details of all our events will be notified nearer the time. For more details please contact the office.
